“Pierce my heart” has been designed for the Venice Design Week 2016 Jewelry Contest.
Made with the lost wax process in bronze, the ring, after casting and polishing, went through a long process to achieve a matt and materic enamel effect. This was obtained by mixing grounded fired porcelain and other stony inclusions to the cold enamel. The idea was to have a shiny perfect and polished surface outside living in a contrasting harmony with the inner rough, matt and uneven surface, because a heart is first of all the place where contrasts find their harmony, and because a heart inside brings all the marks of life.
The design is the attempt to hide four different hearts in one single object.
When you wear the ring it is not so obvious it is a heart: what you see depends on your point of view.
So play with it in your hands and find as many hearts as you can because this is more than just a ring, it is a sculpture.
