TRASPARENT BREATH – CREATIVITY AWARD

From November 15th to January 10th

Jewels by eight artists selected by us will be on display in the Transparent Breath exhibition, curated by Eleonora Varotto and presented in Venice during Venice Glass Week ’25.

Transparent Breath is now in its fourth edition.
This ever-evolving project grows thanks to the authentic passion, tireless creativity, and trust of the artists who bring it to life year after year. More than an exhibition, The Transparent Breath is an act of love for glass: a thousand-year-old material, fragile and powerful, that speaks to emotions, identities, and intimate visions.
Through the hands and hearts of master glassmakers, emerging artists, and young talents, glass is transformed into contemporary jewelry, becoming light, memory, and gesture. Each work is the result of personal research that challenges the limits of the material, opening up new worlds of transparency, reflections, and delicate inner tensions.

The eight artists selected by Creativity:

Eugènia Arnavat | Spain
Eugènia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a degree in Gemology and Diamond Studies from the University of Barcelona, as well as a diploma in Applied Arts and Goldsmithing from EAD Tarragona, where she now teaches jewelry. Her work has received multiple awards, including selection for the Enjoia’t Awards 2023 in Barcelona. She has exhibited in Spain, Andorra, Switzerland, Portugal, Poland, and at The Transparent Breath in Venice.
Her pieces explore themes of lineage, femininity, and resilience. Crafted from a broken glass cup carved in the shape of a female breast, it symbolizes both vulnerability and strength. Enclosed in a bra, the piece pays tribute to women affected by breast cancer, evoking identity, origins, and the enduring power of the maternal form.

Antonija Gospić | Croatia
A glass artist from Zadar, Croatia, she has worked for the past 15 years as a resident lampwork and glass fusion artist at the Museum of Ancient Glass in Zadar. She also runs her own studio and brand, Galleriadivina. Her collection Soap Opera is a wearable irony-elegant yet playful, evoking the drama of everyday life. Hand-blown transparent and blue glass bubbles reflect light, air, and the quiet melodrama of the sea. The necklace speaks softly, but with meaning, crafted for those who live life as art and know that even soap operas have style. The matching ring, while part of the set, can stand alone to elevate any eclectic fashion choice. The A+ necklace captures a fragment of fire suspended in crystal. Its deep red hue pulses like a heartbeat, symbolizing the artist’s life force and her mission to infuse each creation with her essence.

Javiera Yáñez Correas – Hot Glass Artist | Argentina
Javiera Yañez Correas is a glass artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She began lampworking in 2007, creating Murano-style beads for jewelry. In 2015, she transitioned to borosilicate glass, which allowed her to explore more expressive forms. Over time, she built her own furnace to craft large-scale hanging glass flowers. Initially self-taught, she later refined her skills through a master course with Italian artist Simone Crestani. Since 2012, she has exhibited her work in art galleries and cultural spaces throughout Argentina.

Deirdre Maine | France
Deirdre Maine is a Franco-American glass artist based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, France, at the heart of Burgundy’s wine region. She works exclusively with salvaged wine bottles, transforming local waste into sustainable contemporary jewelry. By applying traditional techniques, cold working, kilnforming, and flameworking, she reimagines this humble material in a new context. Her work challenges perceptions of value and waste while honoring the culture and heritage of her adopted home.

KITSCH KIOSK | Germany
KITSCH KIOSK was founded by glass artists Lisa Nagel and Jonas Kammers. At the studio, Lisa creates contemporary jewelry using flame-working techniques and experimental material research. Her designs blend bold colors with soft, organic sculptural forms. Embracing individuality and imperfection, each piece becomes a wearable sculpture, a vibrant celebration of glass in motion.

Blanche Tilden | Australia
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Blanche Tilden has forged an international reputation as a designer and artist, specializing in studio glass and contemporary jewellery. Exploring an enduring fascination with the material and metaphoric potential of glass, Tilden’s work prompts us to consider evolving relationships between humanity and technology, referencing modernism, industrial materials and objects, architecture and the built environment in necklaces created to move with the body.

Huang Xiaozhe | Italy
Huang Xiaozhe, born in 1984 in Beijing, China, is a Venice-based artist specializing in glass and mixed-media contemporary jewelry using lampworking techniques. Her work has been showcased at major events including the International Biennale of Glass, Collect London, Schmuck Munich Jewellery Week, and GRASSIMESSE. Huang holds a graduate degree in Art Management from Bologna University and has honed her craft through workshops with renowned artists such as Lucio Bubacco, Alessia Fuga, Sibelle Yuksek, and Simone Crestani.

Miranda Medina | México
Miranda Medina is a Mexican designer and founder of Proyecto 46, where she explores identity and memory through mestizo jewelry crafted in borosilicate glass. Blending ancestral techniques with contemporary design, her work draws from the everyday imagery of Mexican neighborhoods. One piece echoes the tangled cables and spiral window grilles of working-class homes, turning urban chaos into delicate, protective ornament. Another is inspired by street altars, melted candles, plastic flowers, and devotional icons, transforming acts of faith into intimate, wearable narratives. Through glass, she captures the resilience and beauty of the streets she calls home.
