The Korean author takes part in the group exhibition MATERIAMETAMORPHOSIS >>
"Seulgi Kwon introduces with her refined technique a new concept of synthetic material metamorphosis which reaches very high results in the final outcome. Her jewels are natural organisms pertaining to the plant and animal world, evoking fluid cellular bodies with a changeable and liquid form that the viewer can interpret in everchanging ways, as in the author's intentions. This thanks to the use of very thin layers of silicone, a long and complex process that Seulgi has refined over time and which she finishes off with the inclusion of mixed pigments, beads, fabric, paper, wire and other materials. The results, which stem from a long creative preparatory process in terms of the design and study of three-dimensional casts, are true post-natural sculptures often with ironic and allusive titles ("The end of autumn", "In your garden"), alive and extraordinary in their consistency and colour"
