The Israeli author takes part in the group exhibition MATERIAMETAMORPHOSIS >>
"..a young Israeli author, draws inspiration from the myth of Icarus for her psychological metamorphosis, which challenges the laws of Nature in an unresolvable dichotomy. Daniella materially develops this theme in a smart and creative way: her sculpture ring, also designed for men (as are many of her ornaments which follow the body lines as if some impossible prostheses), is macro-sized in contradiction with the functionality of the scapular wing from which its form is taken, right down to the very surface recalling the bone’s superficial opacity. The material, a resin containing marble dust, is a reference to the heaviness of our limits, while the copper wires placed on the edges are poetic and very light hints to the Sun’s golden reflections, and therefore of our innermost desires: Icarus is the symbol of the constant tension between sky and earth, between desire and frustration, and as such this ring represents those formal characters that speak of this ambiguity, both perceptive and symbolic."
