Deirdre Maine is a Franco-American glass artist based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, France, at the heart of Burgundy’s wine region. She works exclusively with salvaged wine bottles, transforming local waste into sustainable contemporary jewelry. By applying traditional techniques, cold working, kilnforming, and flameworking, she reimagines this humble material in a new context. Her work challenges perceptions of value and waste while honoring the culture and heritage of her adopted home.
