Ceramic and wood sculpture, mixed media, entirely handmade.
Massimo Voghera reinterprets the famous Trojan Horse, transforming it into a sculpture with a playful and ironic character. Featuring an essential, minimalist form, the horse is mounted on a wooden platform with terracotta wheels; it conceals a small figure inside, which can be revealed by opening a side door.
This piece surprises the viewer with its intricate details and its ability to translate a mythological episode into a contemporary narrative—a work that exists at the intersection of sculpture, theater, and play.
The world of theater is an integral part of Massimo Voghera’s artistic journey. A graduate of the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, he worked extensively as a set designer before turning to ceramics, which has since become one of his primary modes of expression.
His sculptures are small, three-dimensional stories, populated by characters, animals, and scenarios drawn from literature, imagination, and everyday life—works that blend poetry and irony with a keen focus on the joy of discovery.
