Necklace, U Sō

Necklace made of brass and hand painted paper with gold or copper pigment.
Versatile jewel, it can be worn both as a pendant and as a choker thanks to a practical screw closure.

Over 10 years of folds and a passionate search for origami have led the author towards a creative path by subtraction; passing from figurative subjects to the abstract, up to leaving out the technique to get to the essence of the material: paper.
Sō in Japanese means ‘layer’, the new creations play with the overlapping, volume and shape of the paper. Hand painted with gold and copper pigments, the artifacts are designed to be worn in different ways. The intent is to interact with the jewel while maintaining a clean and minimal aesthetic line.
