Jewelry as an expression of one’s own cultural world is also a creative horizon for Rita Soto, a Chilean, who in her works combines contemporary suggestions with the recovery of the traditional artisan knowledge of her country, using the technique of horsehair weaving, of which she experiments with resistance and fragility. The “Visceral Realism” series of pins presents brilliantly imaginative organic forms that refer to the body, but also to constantly transforming organisms. Realities that seem to shrink and expand thanks to a skilful use of weaving: the biological matrix of his research is subtly developed also thanks to an intelligent chromatic choice, whereby his creations stick to a dimension of verisimilitude, to realistic metamorphoses of a Nature possible but unknown to us.
